Inside Climate News: Ireland Could Become the Next Nation to Recognize the Rights of Nature and a Human Right to a Clean Environment

Katie Surma writes about an Irish Parliamentary committee that proposed that the Irish government take a series of measures to advance constitutional amendments recognizing that nature has inherent rights to exist, perpetuate, and be restored, and that humans have a right to a clean environment and stable climate.  With this, Ireland could become the first European country to constitutionally recognize that nature possesses legal rights.
