He discussed the Rights of Nature and CDER's pioneering program, the Land that Owns Itself.

Thomas drafted the world's first rights to nature law. In 2025, CDER worked in collaboration with our partners Sacred Contract to move Pyramid Mountain in Colorado into self-ownership.
