BBC: Ireland could give nature constitutional rights

On December 16th, 2023, Louise Cullen of the BBC published “Ireland could give nature constitutional rights”.

The Joint Committee on Environment and Climate Action of the Irish Parliament just released a report recommending advancing a rights of nature constitutional amendment. Ireland could become the first country in the European Union to enshrine the rights of nature into its national constitution.

The Center for Democratic and Environmental Rights (CDER) testified before the Joint Committee in October on the rights of nature.
